Lisa Lannin is an accomplished graphic designer and artist residing in Waterloo, Ontario. She works mainly in watercolour and pencil, specializing in animals and pet portraits.
As is often the case with artists, painting began as a hobby for me – a creative outlet – maybe even an escape. It’s fitting that my medium of choice is watercolour, given my love of water. Its ability to calm the soul, nourish the body, and mold its environment reminds me to go with the flow. How water takes on the colour of what’s around or in it inspires me to see colour, even when it seems grey.
